A quiz to help the reader to determine if they might be multiple, and not aware of it.

Whether you call it multiplicity, plurality, MPD or DID, many people live perfectly normal lives with no knowledge of the fact they house more than one person. Then one day they discover a host of characters or perhaps just one other person inside who has been minding the shop while they daydream, or helping them with their homework or hobbies. There's nothing wrong with being multiple, and sometimes it really helps out. Plurality/Multiplicity can be a very enriching and exciting state of being, and not a a disorder at all.

Take this quiz to see if there's someone around you haven't noticed, helping you through your day. It's possible to discover multiplicity or plurality at any time of life. Some know as children, and somehow dismiss the idea as adults, only to rediscover their true nature in middle age. It's nothing like the movies, and the reality of it almost never matches the psychiatric ideas of MPD or DID.either. It is a unique experience that varies from person to person. Plurality and Multiplicity are normal variations of human psychology, which rarely cause any problems at all, and the vast majority of plurals never seek any sort of psychological treatment.

The following questions are intended to provoke thought, not to establish a diagnosis. If you answer many of these questions with a resounding yes, then please continue your research with the links to this article. Do not worry though, there's nothing wrong with being plural. Many creative people are, and it's not a disorder.

The Quiz

1.Have you ever had a sudden awakened feeling while you were in the middle of a task, as if you’d been asleep or at least unaware of what was going on, and yet you’d been working the whole time?

2.Have you ever had one of these sudden awakenings and been in a place you would not normally go?

3.Have you ever had one of these awakenings while doing a complex task such as driving, writing or drawing and found you were doing as well or better at it than you would normally be capable of?

15.Did you have imaginary friends as a child?

16.Do you often dream of people you do not know physically? Are they the same people time after time?

17.Were you physically or sexually abused as a child?

18.Did you have some other serious childhood trauma, such as the loss of a parent, or sibling, or some terrible experience or accident?

19.Have you ever caught yourself talking to another person who is not physically with you at the time?

20.Do you often feel you need to explain things to yourself, by either speaking or thinking in words, as if you were discussing things with yourself?

21.Has a psychic or anyone else who is sensitive ever described an individual or individuals surrounding you, and you didn’t know what she was talking about?

22.Are you frequently exhausted, even after a good night’s sleep?

23.Are you extremely creative, multi talented, or be able to think in several diverse ways depending on your ‘mood?’

24.Are you extremely comfortable being alone, and tend to feel secure going places alone, being alone at home. Do you have no earthly idea what the word lonesome means?

25.Do you often sense a comforting presence with you which you do not identify as God?

26.Have you ever found files of writings or drawings you do not recall doing on your computer?

If you answered yes to more than a few of these questions you could be a multiple.

I thought you might like an example of how someone from a plural system would answer this. If it's different from what you expected, that's because not all systems are even remotely like (just take the difference between Astraea and the Courts http://www.karitas.net/courts/index.html and the Blackbirds http://www.karitas.net/blackbirds/index.html ).
1, 2. Nope. 3. Okay, technically, there is a left-handed artist in here, and they can control the left hand better than I can (I'm right-handed), but I've never 'had a sudden awakened feeling' during their drawing, so I'll count this as a no. 4. No- though that's because we worked hard to make our writing similar. 5. *blush* ...yes... 6. Yeah. 7. I've had someONE else take over for me- my headmates are people, not 'alters.' 8. No. 9. Only after I told them I wasn't a singlet. 10, 11. No. 12. Yes. 13. No. 14. Not a house specifically, but yes. 15. Yes. 16, 17. No. And NOT ALL PLURALS WERE ABUSED AS KIDS (pet peeve, sorry). 18, 19, 20. Yes. 21, 22, 23. No. 24. Yes, no, yes. No. (In that order.) 25. Yes. 26. No.

Let's do this orderly:
1) Yes! That feeling is just about second nature now.
2) No. I have always been where my mind left off.
3) Yes, I have taken tests, feel like I have fallen asleep, wake up in an erect position, and have completed my test.
4) No, too young for the bank
5) Yes. I swear I was asleep one moment in class, next thing I know I am correcting the teacher on her information and I only catch the last of my sentence and I NEVER would have done that.
6) Yes, especially when I am mad. I do and say things I have no clue why I am saying them, but I can't stop saying them either.
7) Yes. When I get stressed, I become as hard as steel, but that doesn't feel like me. I'm a giant baby and I cry before I fight.
8) YES! Oh geez, it's become ridiculous in the Nth degree! Where are my shoes, not in my room. Where is the laptop, not on the couch. Mother, did you move it? Nope, it wasn't there.
9) I have been told.My brother and I had a blow out once, then a parent neither of us liked got involved, my brother stormed out of the house, and while the fighting was going on I felt that he should leave, but then I ran after hm and started begging him to stay, or so he says. I hardly recall the anger or the compassion he says I had. Just like a foggy dream.
10) Yes, as stated above and other times that aren't as radical.
11) Well, I have sudden bouts of artistic flair where I can draw, but not write, but usually I can write but my drawings are horrid.
12) Yes, as stated above at 9
13) Yes, but it may just be mistaken identity
14) Uh . . . somewhat? I have two rooms in my mind, as I describe them. There is the white room where there is one other person to talk to and debate and reason with, though they are better at it than me. Another note, depending on which 'mode' I am (as my friends call it) it can be either male or female. If I am in 'Male Mode' then it is a female and I am extremely witty and articulate. If I am a girl, I get hole jabbed into everything I say or plan to say by the boy. Then there is the Black room which grabs me, it isn't a room you just decide to walk into. In there are faces of people I know, or feel I know, and voices I have never heard
15) I never called them imaginary. It wasn't like I would pretend to play with them, or would talk to them aloud. Or rather, him/her as stated above. It was all in my head.
16) Sort of. I don't know them physically, but they aren't exactly the same character. Personalities change with situations, and their looks vary, though hold a common theme.
17) NO!
18) Not really. I just never had any friends.
19) Yes, usually I look up at a 72-degree angle and talk to them, but it sounds sort oflike a telephone conversation. And note: THIS IS ONLY WHEN I AM ALONE OR SO STRESSED OUT I CANNOT SLEEP.
20) Of course. Isn't that normal?
21) Pfffft psychics? No, never.
22) Yes!No matter the time,I wake up utterly exhausted.
23) YES!!! Or more 'Mode' than mood
24) I thought I did, but looking back I was content on being alone. I still hate grouping with people.
25) Uh . . . . how do I put this. It's like beig covered clothing that has the power to cushion anything, emotional or physical. And it is like an invisible armor lining my insides and protecting me through and through. (Jeez, even as type I feel like I'm falling asleep and typing perfectly. I have to look at my fingers to type right!)
26) More like NOT finding writings (LIKE ESSAYS) I KNOW 100% I did do. I swear I dd all the essays, but can't find them anywhere.
So yeah, that's how it works.
