Finding Love
One of the most challenging issues for many multiples is finding romance. It is hard to find one individual that suits all the head mates. In addition, many multiples have some of both genders living in their heads. Even these problems can usually be solved, however.
Having a good inner life helps. People who have populated worlds in their awareness, full of people who do not necessarily front or have input in their lives, but are only known in meditation, have fewer problems with dissatisfaction than those who only live in this world, and in a more limited inner situation. Multiple systems with complex inner worlds are called gateway systems. It is easier to be content as a multiple, if there is somewhere head mates can live and enjoy themselves, other than in the mundane life.
Another popular solution is to find another multiple, with approximately the same number of head mates. These multiples often find romance between at least most of the head mates. This is a great solution if they can find the right combination. Naturally this is more complicated than just finding two compatible people, but it isn’t impossible.
Some multiple systems have multiple romantic relationships. It’s not too uncommon for them to have one for each inner person. It is amazing how understanding some of these partners can be of the situation. While this may seem strange it does work for some.
The inner Couple
Some people have a built in lover. Many multiples contain an inner couple. With some there are only two people within them, and they are in love. Other multiples however find the thought of having relations with a head mate as distasteful as having sex with a sibling. It really depends on the relationship head mates have.
Gender Issues and Body Image
Many multiples do have gender issues, because there are people of opposite sex than the body, as well as same sex people within them. Each person of course is well aware of their gender, but the fact that there is more than one person inside one body and one or more of them are of opposite gender makes it difficult for some.
Some have contemplated surgical sex change while others find variations in clothing enough, and still others find all of that unnecessary. Often male persons within the female body just do not identify with the body as actually them. They have their own self image fully formed in the psyche, and inner world, and the fact that the vehicle for their physical life is a female body is of no concern to them at all.
In general while multiples have a lot in common, there are also huge differences between individuals. Nowhere is this more obvious than the area of romance and gender. One can make a lot of broad sweeping statements in some areas but not in this one.
